Netjets (NTA) Aerotoxic Incident. Pilot Jobless.
Approximately three years ago a NTA (Netjets Europe) crew were subjected to fumes in the cockpit. One of the pilots reported symptoms conducive to aerotoxic syndrome and despite extensive treatment has been unable to fly since.
Today it was announced that their insurers UNUM (also a Berkshire Hathaway company) would not support his claim of permanent disability, NTA management refused to support him in an appeal against this decision. He has received no income since the end of last summer, has a family to support yet is unable to work. |
bad news for NJE, so they want to get rid of some pilots!!!
|
We all should be ashamed of ourself to see this happen and just standing by. Even if the claim was so and so, NetJets Europe could stand up and take responsibility for their own faulty aircraft.
Still no union, and very bad times with draconic measures comming up. Let's all pretend we stand together........(but we keep watching and doing nothing....) Let's hope for this guy that NetJets takes its responsibility, offer the man an assistant FM position for G.. sake.... |
I'm not ashamed of myself. I'm ashamed of the endless stream of appalling management at Netjets.
But nothing surprises me anymore with them! |
Aerotoxic
NetJetsAerotoxic, do I uderstand this correctly? He has lost his licence and they wont pay him out :confused:? Clmax
|
I have said all along. If they treat pilots with contempt when they are looking for them, they will treat them badly when they are not. Nothing I have seen, heard or read since, has given me reason to change my mind.
|
clmax.
You understand correctly. |
I know a guy who experienced this at TNT, also lost his license and therefore also lost his job. The insurence also refused to pay.
It is easy for a company to get away with this because it is very difficult for a pilot to proof that he got poisoned in the aircraft. I assume that companies behave this way because if they would accept that people can get poisoned in their aircraft that would have serious economic complications. |
