Blackbushe Incident

Blackbushe is currently notam'd as closed due to aircraft accident. Anyone have any details?

Flyplan 28th Feb 2009 18:50

Saw it happen, appeared to lose power on take off, leaving her slow and at the back of the drag curve with the enivitable stall / spin / ground loop. Hit the grassy ground to the north (RHS looking down the runway).

I believe they were taken to the local hospital for checks. Thankfully the word from the tower was all on board are OK.

On Flyer forum is was said that G-APRR was involved.

Believe it to be the lovely old Aero Ae-145 Super Aero 145 I walked over to take a look at on my return from Wellesbourne this afternoon; it was parked in the visitors' spaces below the EGLK tower, in front of the row of new Cessna Mustangs.

Understand it had an engine failure on take-off, and was badly damaged, but fortunately tower said all on board OK. ;)

Blackbushe incident.

Saw it happen on Saturday a few minutes after we had landed.., Stalled in from about 15ft and struck the wing tip and rolled on its axis. Please to hear that 3 people escaped with bruises.

Speaking to people yesterday, understand that the pilot says he just lost directional control as the tail lifted..

Strange feeling taking off yesteday, seeing the aircraft wreckage on the grass to the north of the runway..

Does anyone know how the student who had to divert got on??

Ah thats good.. I had heard others were diverted to Fairoaks and elswhere, so presumed Farnborough wasn't accepting diversions,, unless emergency...

Good day all round, with no one seriously hurt.....
Shame about a nice plane though....
