"STING" - Citation accident??

Anyone have any info on a Citation possibly at C560 that was involved in an accident with "Sting" on board or owned/operated by Sting?

Possibly a few years ago now ....

Cessna 560 Citation V (registered as OE-GSW).
Runway overrun in Florence (Italy) on April 30th, 2001.

I have the investigation report (in Italian, includes some pictures). If you are interested, send me a PM with your e-mail address.

Yes, according to the news reports. I have no other sources to confirm that.
The accident report says 2 crew + 2 passengers.

But he holds a share with Netjets, no? Was this a NJ selloff flight?

Splat 21st Feb 2009 12:10

Was this the Sting as in save the rainforest Sting?

Hmmmmmmm

It was 2001 though. So possibly before he got involved with NJE and before being "green" was so cool.

Hello,

This overrun was, as the official story went at the time, the reason he decided to join NJE...:E

Have fun.

This is a bit of a blast from the past!

The crew on this flight are friends of mine. Apparently Sting was 'fine' after the incident and continued flying with that operator for quite a while. In fact, he flew with the same crew back into Florence at a later date.
