Operating a jet Privately
Does anyone have any information on the requirements for operating a Falcon 900 privately on the UK register? I know that for an AOC operation, Ops manuals and subsequent approvals etc are required. However this aircraft would not be operated for hire or reward. I am specifically looking for guidance on certification required, the process of registration with the CAA and MNPS and RVSM approvals (if required??). I have had a look round the CAA website and not managed to get very far. As a last resort I will call them but thought that someone on here may be able to give me some practical guidance!

Maybe worth considering the IOM register as it would appear to be much simpler and straight forward, certainly for maintenance.

If your looking at operating a F900 here in the UK privately why you bothered about running on the G reg. Absolutely no reaon for doing this. As a private operator you would be more wise to stick to the N reg or something like the Manx reg as stated by Johnny Reed. Check you PM as well !! |
Definitely agree with the IOM register.
You will need RVSM approval if the aircraft is to be operated in RVSM airspace - which it almost certainly would be. |
Julian,
Your not wrong there. The Manx reg is becoming more popular to our purchasers leaving them considering either the Manx or US N reg. From a resale point of view stay N rather than Manx on something like a F900 but thats only from a point of resale. Most buyers are in the US as you will appreciate and we have found some our of recent US buyers to be a little unsure about the Manx reg and even are unsure to its existance so are hence on occasion uncomfortable when looking at buying a Manx registered aircraft. |
Also, have a look at the excellent response from Sepp to the thread " New EU Regulation for a/c over 5700kg" in this Forum.
