Flight Safety Paris Hotel Recommendations
 

I have found a couple of old threads but would appreciate an update on the best hotels near FSI Paris for a long term stay?
Also background information on things to do, airport transfers, getting to the training centre, busses/trains to the city, decent pubs/restaurants etc.
All advice appreciated.

courtyard still the best, they have a FSI rate, will drive you to/from the training center. The courtyard also has the best restaurant miles around.

the Millenium hotel a few paces off has a pub. Decent beer, horrible food.

Courtyard Marriott at Roissy-en-Ville is excellent :ok:. You even get free internet access...

Stay well clear of the Kyriad at the Airport and all the Novotel Hotels around the airport. The rooms and the food are horrible!!!!!!!!

yes the courtyard Marriot by far, the bar is expensive but all you need to do is walk 150mtrs into Roissy village for shops,pubs,ATM, and small places to eat. Just walk through the parkland around the Hotel De ville

The Marriott is definately the best deal but, be aware they are NOT obliged to run you to and from FSI. You must book the shuttle the day before at least and if the Concierge is busy tough luck.:ok:

CourtYard, Marriot is the best for crew.

I have not tried Courtyard but spent 5 weeks in Hyatt and it was great! Transport to and from FSI provided by hotel.

My advice is to be in any of the hotels at the town of "Roissy en France" The village is very pleasant and there is just about everything you will need there, a couple of local restaurants, an Asian food restaurant, a creperie and on Sundays when they are all closed the Pizza place is always open. The village square is fine with 2 shops a newsagent and an ATM plus a full blown post office.The boulangerie is great with some lovely french tarts for 2E. There are shuttle busses from the hotels(foc) to all the terminals and the RER station at regular intervals.Getting to FSI will take 15 mins in a taxi at any time or sometimes you can organise the hotel to do this all in with the price. Do not under any circumstances get conned into staying at any hotel in "Le Mensil Amelot" completly isolated and just about nothing local.........Enjoy. pm me if you want any more info!!!

When I was there I think the T+C's were transport to and from FSI so on the occasions they couldn't provide transport there was a taxi at their expense.

Early morning sim slots are a different story. You are on your own then.

agree don't stay at the Kyriad - but they do a good seafood lunch buffet type thingy!

Went to a Chinese restaurant Mirido which is just opposite the museum, I am now puking like a good old boy. Not a happy bunny!

The chineese next to it (think there are 3 or 4) used to be pretty normal. There is just one which makes everybody sick.

The Chinese in LeBourget is really bad, sorry meant to say earlier however, the sushi restaurant (restaurant Japonaise) is very very good. Always packed at lunchtime though.
There is a Pizza restaurant on the right by the roadworks on the way back to the Marriott which is also excellent. (this is not the one near the hotel though that is good).
The Brasserie in Roissy village is very nice. A lot of restaurants are closed on Mondays in France, and between 14:30 and 19:00 most are closed.
If you go into Paris from the hotel get off at terminal 2C or D for the RER. When you come back though try and get off at terminal 1 for the shuttle. The trick for not waiting too long for the Marriott shuttle is get the blue Mercure hotel one if it comes first and walk the 100 metres back to the Marriott. The shuttle drivers don't care where you are going, the locals often use them.
The hotel restaurant is very very expensive. The Holiday Inn opposite the Millennium does nice bar snacks:ok:

I still like the Millenium, the bar's not as busy as it was pre 9/11 and it's all needing a wee bit of TLC.....but the beer's good and the staff are friendly....avoid the burgers though!

Does anyone else remember the huge bags of nuts that used to end up covering the floor!? :ok:

If Courtyard full, try Dorint, Roissy close by, as plan B.

If stuck at Kyriad, Novotel, LBG don't walk around there at night. I know a crew of 3 who were mugged at knife point by a N African gang (admittedly around '94 but might still be dodgy). They seem to think pilots have cash on them. They haven't come accross the tight one's that I fly with! Get a taxi.
