Hawarden - Fuel and Go
With the new Beechcraft service centre racking up masses of new maintenance business does anybody think there is mileage in using Hawarden as a fuel stop for executive traffic - Europe /USA ?
I understand that the runway is plus 6300ft and runway hours of operation are not too bad either. With a major exec service centre on-site, would this be much more cost effective than using Liverpool or Manchester. |
What's the fuel price on Jet?

customs used to be the main issue

Hawarden - Fuel and Go ...
Our experience was the opening hours and fire cover.
0800 - 1900 local weekdays and 0930 - 1600 weekends Can hardly ever operate 'out of hours' plus fire cover seems to be a real issue - Airbus who own the airfield just about scrape Cat 4 midweek and Cat 2 at weekend and won't allow reduction of fire cat - rumour has it, not even for the based operators (C550B; Citation X, Falcon 2000 - what a nightmare ?!) We found it was more trouble than it was worth ... and not much £ to be saved either. |
Harwarden (or HARDON as some people call it) is really a non starter for transatantic ops. Hours are not flex, CIS is hard put to work, comms are pretty naf, Go to LPL or MAN for that part of the world.

Correct pronunciation is like "Harden"

no tax deduction on HWR if you fuel more than 2000 liters, call them and check it, they are really nice handling

Did anyone know the Jet A1 price in Hawarden?
