Eclipse 500
Has anyone experience of operating an Eclipse 500 for charters?
Thank you. |
There are no Eclipse 500's in Europe on charters.

Try Air Cannes in LFMD
|
Try PrivateAirManagement (Hangar 3) at Blackpool:ok:
|
I understand that Eclipse 500 has EASA certification yet so can't yet be operated for charter. There are a few "N"s in Europe (eg Air Cannes, as CL300 points out) but even they can't be operated even privately in upper airways at the moment AFAIK.

It is like Mustang........slow moving milestone ahead of the big commercial planes.......hovering at FL330.....none ATC will let you go there.....:ugh:
|
with our mustang we didn't have any problems yet to get up to 410. and by the way last week we did schipol - inverness with 3pax as fast as the CJ2 with 4pax... (of course they should have done faster *g*)
:ok: |
Pepi
We did a Cannes - Luton, took of 5 minutes after a Mustang on the same route, pilot watched him land 20 minutes after we did in a CJ. Phil |
And we did the same route at FL470 and beat you another 15 min.
We live together .....;) |
Pepi,
I guess 50kts difference in TAS alone makes no difference in comparing the CJ to the Mustang?! :ugh: SKP |
Can anyone give me some more information about the 7,000 euro fines and the man in his portacabin?

Eclipse 500.
Any news about the eclipse 500 easa certification?
There are a lot of operators with the aircraft, but they canīt operate it comercially. good flights!:ok: |
The aircraft has a number of major problems and would not say that there are a lot of operators with the aircraft.... In the US the one major client is Dayjet and they have a hard time and have scaled back their operation big time. Half their fleet is for sale and the huge order they have placed is most likely non existent. :ouch:
Easa is very unlikely soon due to the outstanding software and avionics issues. The company is still trying to get new financing and hopes to stay afloat.. :suspect: It looks like that the Mustang and the Embraer will be the only commercial VLJ's around and the aircraft is just a wet dream of would be operators.. Interesting to note is that over 90% of people starting in this segment are people from outside aviation... you fill in if that is a good thing or a bad thing :hmm: |
I know that in Spain there are at least 3 operators with eclipses now here, and they are waiting for the easa certification. I suposse that there will be other operators in Europe apart from Etirc who is the distributor with a lot of eclipses flying.
In farnborough I heard that it will be certified in October. Very difficult I think but...who knows?... Bye:ok: |
This are the aircraft that have been registered so far, please note all have them still have IOU's in the US let alone in Europe. Maybe you know the LLC they use for the aircraft as I dont see any due to go to Spain in here. Google Docs - Eclipse 500 Delivery Data
Which are the dreamers errrr operators that were thinking they would receive Eclipses  |
Which are the dreamers errrr operators that were thinking they would receive Eclipses ?
Here are the registrations of the planes they have in Spain since 2 months. N114EA Jet ready. N118EA Jet ready. N911MX Taxijet. You can find them in google. |
ok point taken: Which are the dreamers errrr operators that were thinking they would receive EASA certified Eclipses ? :}
|
On my last count there were close on 20 operating (privately) within Europe and Eastern Europe.
5 in the UK. At least 3 in Spain. 2 in the Netherlands. 2 in Kiev. The others are scattered all over the continent. Lots wrong with the aeroplane in its present form, but cheap to buy and cheap to fly and on top of that it's a helluva lot of fun! Stassiebal. |
Would not say cheap to buy... 2 mil usd and no residual value... Better to buy a 3 mil Embraer or Mustang and have at least some money left once you move up the aircraft ladder :hmm:
|
Mustang knocking again Phil? you really have it in for this aircraft don't you.
Are you on sales commission with Cessna as the far as the CJ series is concerned. Mustang is slower than other types but so far ATC have had no problems with it,if something faster is behind, they just move you to one side let it pass and let you back on your merry way,a lot of the time it's up at FL 370 and beyond and doesn't bother the airliners below. |
