Qualifications required
Can anyone tell me if a fATPL is necessary to fly single pilot biz jet? I am considering getting my JAA CPL with I/R multiengine.. Thanks

No, it isn't. You can fly a single-pilot bizjet for private purposes on a PPL or, for aerial work or public transport purposes, on a CPL. However, there are certain experience and recency requirements to be met in the case of public transport.

Min requirements are PPL-IR - HPA endorsement or ATPL Writtens 200 TT min of min 70 as PIC (multi if twin jet)
Very, very, very, very strongly suggest circa: 100 hrs avionics / glass cockpit ground training & CRM & MCC especially even if planning to fly single pilot. Also expect min of 16 hrs of instructional airborne with TRI + min of 4hrs Line / IOE (initial operating experience) Interesting times ahead - I cant wait... :ok: |
Why bother with a CPL.....get an ATPL!!
Jimmy,
Don't know why you are considering getting a JAR CPL. The ATPL is not that much more work, and you'll be able to fly both single and multicrew jet aircraft then! :ok: |
