From Commercial to Contract Pilot?
 

I was wondering if anyone one knew how to get into being a contract pilot. Meaning being typed in several aircraft and contracting yourself out to companies that need aircraft to be ferried or repostioned? Of course this would mean carrying my own insurance. I know it is done, I just want to know how to get into so I can leave the unstable life as a Commercial pilot!

Oh dear, sad to inform you that if you think being a Commercial Pilot is unstable you will have a big shock migrating to contract. The work you seem to be looking for is ferry flying, so without knowing your experience I would suggest trawling the companies that do just this ( mostly on smaller airframes ) vis google or mags like Flight, Pilot etc etc
