Bizjet purchase considerations
 

As any of you would guess, there are thousands of ways to be shafted when buying an aircraft. Well, I just would like to avoid that !. . :)

I got all the figures, DOC, PMC, FC, etc. I know what we need (roughly): a Citation Ultra, which is about 5M$ (without RVSM - unfortunately).

Everything seems so simple that it becomes suspicious. Can't be that easy !. . <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

If you have any opinion, feedback, or recommendation you can make, I'd greatly appreciate it. Has anyone here ever done business with those companies like Eagle Aviation, Omni Jet, Bell Aviation, etc. ?

If you / your company can afford the $5 million acquisition, then you certainly can afford some expert advice in order that you don't get shafted!

Plenty of well priced a/c around just now, with RVSM compliance.

EM is right. That sort of purchase is not something which should be undertaken without an acquisitions specialist.

Although on paper the Ultra might be the perfect aircraft for you, there are lots of truths that can only be found out by consulting someone in the know.

And my address is attached too - we operate exec jets, not just have reams of paper about them!

It is simple,. .IF you know what your needs are (cabin,runway,range,fuelcosts,purchase etc.). .When you buy,use a citation center to do a prepurchase inspection, read the cescom maintenance file very carefully (cescom is an option but most operator use it) to find out about whats next on the list. Add the rvsm to your calculation and be aware that aeroplanes very often show a nasty behavior when beeing sold (somethings breaks right after the purchase, every airplane our company bought proofed this). Tradings are slow these days, should be easy to get a good piece of aluminum!

You should consider contacting Cessna used aircraft sales in Wichita. They have lots of airplanes hidden in hangers all over the place, which they are dying to offload. Demand a complete Phase I-V, FSI training, a good warranty package, free delivery to your location all at a lowball price and see what they can come up with!

Depends where you are based. If you are in Europe the Cessna guru is Tim Leacock - contact details at . .<a href="http://www.timleacockaircraft.com" target="_blank">www.timleacockaircraft.com</a>. .If you have that much to spend on an Ultra, might be worth considering a Bravo instead.. .If you can get a bit more cash together - the Excel is a fantastic aircraft....

Please do not use anybody to buy your 560 EXCEPT Cessna, vmommo is 100% correct and like me has probably leaned the hard way. The best deal you will get right now will be done with Cessna, who probably have lots of ultra`s kicking around. <img src="cool.gif" border="0">

Cessna would be able to help you with the maintenance questions. Pre-buy inspections, again, are via Cessna or whoever you are thinking of utilising for maintenance. Watch out for the status of any C2 though, you may need a lot of upgrades to get it up to date...

There is a software even biz-jet manufactures are using to compare their aircraft with the competition which calculates the costs of virtual any biz-jet out there. I can´t remember the name. But, they are in this business for about 20 years now and lots of biz-jet buyers are using it. I just saw an article in EuroBusiness about this company. Maybe, someone else here knows the name and address. If not, I would ask some reputable biz-jet operator.
