Two questions MUST be answered so that we can answer your question.

1) What type of operation are you running, Part 91 or 135? If you're 135 you've got some other issues...

2) What is your budget. You can go cheap with a COTS (commecial off the shelf) Tablet PC, or go with something that is purpose-built and a dedicated EFB, depending on question #1 and where you'll put the EFB.

In the meantime, here is some required reading if you haven't already: FAA AC 120-76A.

Oops...just noticed you're UK-based. Disregard the above if that's the case...

Outside US we use the jeppview (class 1), and it is quite easy to use and to print. For the moment I don't like the idea to have another pice in the flight deck, as they look like quite bulky to me.

Without knowing your budget, my simple advice is don't go cheap. Having said that, here are a couple worthy mentions. The purpose-built EFBs have screen hacks that allow for extra bright and extra dim settings. This is important if you are serious about using it. Also, built-in Bluetooth is a must, IMHO.

On a side note, we're looking at adding WxWorx to our EFB, as Jepp has just released a software update that displays it on Jeppview.

Let us know what you end up with and give a little review.
