need to charter an 20 seat aircraft
Hi Folks,
My father has askd me, as the pilot in our family, if i can find out some info on aircraft charter. Hopefully someone here can assist! He is celebrating Mums 60th birthday and wants to take her and her friends/family to Bordeux for a week - he wants to charter an aircraft that will take about 15 - 20 people. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of aircraft would do the job, or where i can find one? Thanks for any help. KK |
Hi,
Turboprop : B1900, E110, J31, etc... Jet : will be expensive : GV,hawker 1000, |
Try Scot Airways with their 328's, or Twinjet with their Barbie Jets, or contact a broker and deal with a French company and do it backwards so to speak := i.e. BOD-UK-BOD-UK-BOD, either way, there will be plenty of empty sectors to pay for.

e-mailed you.
:) :) |
As mentioned Scot Airways with a D328 or maybe Eastern with a Jetstream 31/41
Somebody mentioned Twinjet with a Be1900, Aria do/did operate one based out of Coventry which was avilable for charter. All of the above companies should be easy enough to find using Google FC |
One of Twinjet's B1900s sits in Jersey all day waiting to return to Paris. Depending on times and locations, they might be prepared to do a reasonable deal rather than have the aircraft sitting idle all day.

Thanks
I will check out the tips - much appreciated!:ok: |
Try a Metro as well. Up to 19 seats and very reasonably priced from the right operator.
There are always some around the UK to make sure you are only paying for 2 sectors and a bit of ferry. (Assuming the flight is to be from the UK). |
You could try www.loganair.co.uk , Saab 340 might be a bit big (34 seats) and a bit far North, but worth asking for a quote - you can do it online I think. Not sure if the Twin Otter's available for hire but it seats 18 or 19.

Where are your passengers originating in the UK?
|
The pax are from the humberside area. The main problem i can see so far is the extra sectors for positioning. Hate to say it, but maybe a mass booking at Ryanair or similar will be better? I'll check out the above operators. Thanks again folks!

I think Eastern Airways are based at Humberside so there shouldn't be any positioning costs for one of their Jetstreams.

Chartering an aircraft will always be more expensive than the commercial option. There will be two deadlegs involved going from UK to Bordeaux.
So it depends on the standard of service you require on board. Other advantages of charter is you go depart when and from where you want. Quicker access to airport using an FBO rather than the main terminal. This premium service comes at a price and don't expect it to be comparible with 20 economy seats with Ryanair. Send me a private message if you need any more help. brgds, GP |
Thanks again folks, I have got my quotes now and although its a lot cheaper with ryanair.....not as much fun as chartering your own a/c! Thanks again for your input.
KK out. |
What a/c type do you plan on using and who did you speak to (broker/airline?)
|
Try Club328 Dornier Jet or Turboprop :)
|
How much would the whole thing cost?
|
Hi folks,
Just so you know, the trip from S england to Bordeux, 20 seats depending on company is approx £6000 - £8000. KK |
I assume that's one way?
|
That'll be return if it's using an aircraft in or very close to the UK.
