Net Jets Lisbon
I have had a phone call from Carlos Costas, Net Jets in Lisbon, asking if I would like to attend the interview and sim ride in Amsterdam some time in late October.
The positions offered are for the Bravo, Excel or Hawker 800XP.
LHS subject to how well the sim goes or RHS for 6 months with a move to the LHS after 6 months.
Salary 45,000 Euros for F/O
60,000 Euros for Capt starting and 100,000 Euros Top.
70 Euros a day Duty pay plus Hotel accomodation when
"On Tour"
Bond for 3 years if not already Type rated.
Contract also 3 years renewable.
6 ON 5 OFF plus return airline tickets to an international Airport of your choice to /from Lisbon when on duty. So I can effectively live where I like .
Apparently the sim could be anything from a Citation V to a B747.
All seems too good to be true, is it ? Anyone else going to Amsterdam, any more info from you guys already flying for them ?
I have read all the existing threads on Net Jets, are things starting to improve ? Many thanks in advance .

6 and 5 does not exist anymore at netjets europe, you work 18 days and they will TRY to give you a 6 and 5.
Minimum rest between to rotations can be as little as 36 hours, but they will TRY to give 5 days
Currently, pilots fly the full 18 and more.
There are no LHS positions on the hawker, just bravo and excel.
F/O salary: 40.500,-- euro.
Bond for 3 years, typed or not.
Pilots are generally unhappy with items like duty times and upgrade policy.
Have fun.

I understand the pay structure has recently been revised. Is there just ONE F/O starting pay or does it depend on prior experience such as T/R, jet-time or corporate experience? If so, some info as to how exactly it works would be much appreciated.
Also, have things started to improve since the latest grumbles?
How is the expansion coming along? Any plans for the BBJ? Will they be needing more pilots in the near future? What´s wrong with their upgrade-policy? Time to command?
Looking forward to any info NetJets pilots are willing to share.

One F/O starting pay, citation fleet all the same.
Hawker F/O gets 2500,-- yearly more, Falcon F/O another 2500.
Salary has nothing to do with experience anymore.
Things are still the same as they ever were, management changing rules without consulting or thinking about their crews.
They will need a lot more pilots in the near future, as they will expand next year.
Don't know about the bbj.
An F/O, regardles what a/c he's on, will have to go down to the bravo to get his/her command.

Thanks most enlightening, most probably wont be able to commute from old blighty then.
So next question is, how is the price of accomodation over there?
Whats the tax situation like, UK or Portugese?
I understand that you may have your salary paid into an offshore account, is that true ?
How long would you stay on the Bravo or Excel before say moving to the XB or Falcon ?
Would you seriously only stay in the RHS for 6 months before a command ?
Are there any direct entry commands going ?
Looks like the salaries I was told differ from yours !

Bonded for 3 years, typed or not!! This does seem a bit bizarre. How much is this bond? Does it reduce monthly?

You don't have to commute and the accomodation/tax question need not be relevant.
You can be anywhere in Europe providing it's within an hour of a 'major' airport. They position you on day one of your tour.
Course, the travel time doesn't count as duty................

i dont have a citation type rating but yes a falcon 20,fokker 50,
Bae ATP, b 737. Mrs. Rola told me type rated pilots only...maybe in 2003 they´l take on someone like myself...
any comments from anyone ??

I don't have a Citation rating either, but I do have 3000hrs on a medium Jet, I have been offered an Interview in AMS but I'm still waiting for a date.

I agree with MFRA all is not what it seems at netjets beware the contract is Isle of Man so basically they change what they want when they want 18+ is the norm and they can change your roster at any time especially if you have not worked the 18 days in that month not much of a life stile as you are therefor on 24/7 unless you turn your phone off there are no direct command unless your have something extra ordinary to offer leave is only 14 days for the first two years then 21 from 3-5yrs thses are not working days like most companys but actual days off no public hols etc rosters normally come out 1 week before end of month and are suject to change at any time

This is typical of companies, when they assume there is a surplus of pilots.
The question has to be asked, if one is jerked around this early in the proceedings, what the hell is it going to be like being employed by them.

Join NJE only as a last resort. European management is powerless and is controlled by US bosses.
