I think you'll now agree, CPDLC is not mandatory in Europe.

CPDLC Mandatory in Europe?

On return flight from the Eastern Med a few days ago, as PM on that sector, spent at least the first third trying and failing to log in. We were back in ‘Western’ europe before we succeeded. I can’t really compare to previous experiences as CPDLC was new to me just before being furloughed in March and I’ve only just returned.

@Jump Complete, as you mentioned Western Europe, where exactly. All of the Atlantic coastal countries work with FANS1 and ATN, the rest of Europe only uses ATN, is your aircraft capable of both FANS1 and ATN?
