Corona virus effect

Evening all!

Just curious how this disease has affected you in this sector of the industry. All gone quiet for me.

Freelance Hawker and Chally 300/350 driver here. EASA side of the pond.

Hearing various things from the guys in the sandpit I know, some in quarantine and some can’t get to work. Same for Russia and Kazakhstan. Restrictions to travel to work.

what are the management companies doing, and the private owners?

lets hope it goes away as fast as it came.

be safe all.

Hello!

I am employed by a corporate owner who has his plane under an AOC. Our plane is in (scheduled) maintenance for another week and if we are still allowed to use airports by then I assume that I will continue to fly more or less normally. The other planes in our AOC are flying like crazy right now, taking home people from their holidays and such. However some colleagues have been placed under quarantaine because they have been in countries with high infection numbers. Sooner or later we will run out of employable crews.

In my other job I am a flying instructor with a commercial FTO, training mostly ATPL students. The school has stopped all activities (flying, ground school and simulator) yesterday morning. I managed to do a night VFR training session the day before so I am among the ones who lasted till the last possible moment....

Regards
Max

NB: The corona thing is no joke. This afternoon I had a long phone conversation with a good friend who got herself infected on a skiing holiday in Austria. She is in her late thirties and as healthy as one can be. She spent a whole week in bed and told me that she has never felt so sick in her whole life.I am really scared when I think about my mother (who happens to live in northern Itraly) and other friends and relatives who are above the age of 65. Or my wife who has had asthma for many years. Therefore I am ready to accept any measure taken by the authorities to slow down this thing until a vaccine or cure has been found. To hell with job, money, personal freedom. This is a matter of life and death and the life and death of friends and relatives.

Last week was crazy one, everybody wanted to escape or return back. We have 7 bizjets under AOC (Europe) and almost all of them were flying. Now I don't have any flight in my schedule
