No I wasn't going to bust a gut chasing them, I took an alternative offer at the time. But I just thought it remarkably poor form - I've had applications, CVs, meetings, ignored without reply (haven't we all), but never before have I traipsed across Europe, pass the selection, contacted with the result ... and then been completely ignored. Apparently there was quite a number of us who passed, and then were blanked.

This is hilarious (not really), but that exact same outcome happened to me, at the same time, somewhere back in mid 2010. Amateurs.
Anyways they can take there industry substandard Captain pay and see what they get for their offering. Good luck with that project.

Sorry, but I think we all know that seniority and ability (or gently put experience) are two different things. Secondly, Vistajet might be looking to try their luck in attracting experienced and qualified Captains externally while there are still some looking (unemployed). I believe only a few of these will be looking to join VJ on the know conditions.

Maybe so - but at least put them on the least favoured fleets and reward the loyalty of your existing PICs by bumping them up to the “aspirational” fleets (not aspirational for me as I’ve had my fill of long-range but you presumably get my point)

I think you’re missing the point there. They’re taking type rated FOs off of the Global and re typing them as PICs on the CLs. They are, in fact, incurring the expense of a new rating.

From speaking to crew at Vista the morale has hit rock bottom and they very much need to take some actions before there’s a mass exodus. Presumably quickly slotting in type rated experienced captains will take some of the workload off the very overworked (and underpaid) existing crews before they up sticks and move elsewhere.

To ensure that they make their employees happy? They run the show, they are the face of the company in the world!

Being eligible for an upgrade does NOT make you pass the evaluation, course and test automatically. Seniority is there to have a transparent system for everyone to know who else's turn it will be next. I am happy that my employer is applying seniority for these career moves and I wouldn't want it any way else.

Regarding the 17 on/13 off, I understand you position on day 1 and day 17. Seems there are a lot of flights out of Luton and Farnborough. What if you live near London? Do they try to get you to start flying duty from one of these bases on day 1, or do you still get day 1 reserved for "positioning"? If so, is it the same for day 17?

Thanks

Did NJE follow the seniority list when they laid off pilots recently? - about a year or two ago or so. The seniority list is only worth something (ANYTHING) if the employer actually uses it - NJE didn´t in recent times - or perhaps my memory fails me..

I have to say, personally I think this is one of the better things about VJ - the 17/13. If it works.

That's for the other thread, but I will answer in short (as I was affected myself by those "furloughs"): basically you are right and it caused a lot of outrage in 2020. The Falcon crews had to go as the company had decided to get rid of all Falcons and British law allows to do exactly this: get rid of people who are on this fleet outside seniority. The other 40-ish pilots, who also had to go, were selected by seniority from other fleets.

I am still strongly in favour of such a system, we are now 600+ pilots in Netjets, there's no other way, I am afraid.

A bit like you?

Can I ask what date you applied? I applied on the 14th, still showing under review. Thanks

Did you include a cover letter? The application page doesn't ask for one. It has very generic attachment options and you get to select 4 documents you feel are relevant, but I hear the Chief People Person likes a good cover letter.

PFO, non-typed, only just meet their DEC requirements in terms of experience, no corporate experience.
Desperate to break into this industry!

Does anyone have information with regard to the Vistajet simulator check? From example type used, glass, clockwork, profile?
Many thanks
