Logbook, electronic or paper?
Hi folks,
I was wondering as a pilot, whether you are private or flying commercially, do you use/prefer electronic logbook over paper ones? I know in many cases to have a paper copy is mandatory. However, I was wondering whether having an electronic logbook adds chore to your routine? Which do you wanna prefer? Is it becoming common practice to have electronic logbooks? or do you think its something you wouldn't give up?

I'm on a digital logbook only. My CAA accepts it without issues and it's a huge time saver in terms of logging the flights, getting totals for different types of flying, other statistics like FTL tools etc.
If you want to run it next to a paper log, it only adds perhaps 30-60 seconds to your routine, depending on what data you want to log. For me, after a flight I grab the tech log, fill that, grab my phone, fill that, and then hop out for the walk around for next leg or to go home.

Hi!
I think for me it is mainly that - nostalgia. There are excellent electronic logbooks around, both on the computer and as an app on the smartphone. Quite a few of my colleagues use those. But I still have a paper logbook for whose entried I only use my fountain pen. I like it that way. However, in parallel I enter all my flights into an Excel (*) spreadsheet. Simple because it is a lot easier to calculate sums and put together the hours I need to write the invoices to my employers.

I'm looking for a reliable good electronic logbook that is not Apple, I have windows and android if anyone can recommend some good E logbooks for those devices please let me know
