High Loader to load catering

I was charged USD$3000 in Farnborough UK for the High Loader from the caterer to transfer the catering to my aircraft. Is this the norm with most European business jet airport? Appreciate your thoughts and comments on this. Thanks.

Absolutely not and I would refuse to pay it, we have been charged around €500-600 in Europe. Which company was it?

If you needed a belt loader for the catering, i guess the belt loader costs are the least of the expenses

Kimmy, I believe that you fly a Gulfstream, if i'm correct then these charges are ludicrous, what is stopping the catering company from carrying the catering in through the front door?

This is a new high (or low) in European airway robbery. Any chance the agent was named Dick Turpin?

I was on on the BBJ and needed the High Loader, I just didn't expect the charge to be so exorbitant!!! Maybe they had to borrow from Heathrow...LOL

Anyway, I clarified with Airculinaire and they admitted that it was a mistake. They will amend the charge. I thought I should seek some advice from here before I yell at them.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Proves that it’s well worth going through invoices before signing or at least once the trip is over and direct bills start coming in.
