CL604 - slightly silly question
Hi people,
I'm going to transition from a larger aircraft to the Challenger 604/605.
What is a good size (max size), of your pilot bag?
Today I have an old style big block leather thing and I suspect that it may not fit well in a smaller cockpit.
Any riders out there with experience with some input?

My Suggestion is:
Ditch the flight bag (you don't need it) and get a nice backpack! That way you can put it behind the pilot seat, forward lav, closet, or baggage compartment and not scratch up the interior!

you should be fine with a bag slightly smaller then the usual Pilot Bags.
Flying on the 604/605 myself, I can tell you that there is no forward lav and the rest and all of the storrage possibilities back of the Cockpit will be used by the flight attendants.
Depending on your size and the way you like to have your backrest you should be fine to store it behind your seat or in the aisle next to your seat.
I personally have the Alpha 2 from Tumi which is perfect and suits all my stuff I need.

When transitioning to smaller aircraft I advice to go backpack. See you can get Letter sized things in there and get an uttermost soft version, no metal buckles and so. In these smaller planes you ditch edges and a soft backpack with no metal is the way to go. When going backpack, see that you can either detach the straps or have a pocket to let them vanish - loose shoulder straps are bad in cockpit.
I now use one from a kids shop for school equipment. Don't ask me the story and how I argued with my daughter not to get the pink polly pocket one (Who the f*** put a flying glitter horse on that - "Dad, can you fly this horse" ...). The one I got granted by little missy is dark marine and looks almost like the MyGoFlight from the outside, but with kids/cockpit friendly plastic buckles.

I use a Briggs and Riley briefcase, a 22" carry-on roller bag from them and a hanging bag--good for two weeks, looks sharp and in 10 years still works.
