FBW but no sidestick

As I understand the history:

The original plan was that the 650 would be a differences from the 550, and as such, a side stick would alter the pilot interface so much that the big bosses feared a new TR.

The 550 has the perfect ergonomics for a side stick, so thats no problem.

As to one hand for power and one hand for directional control, 100% agree...... There have been many events where AT disconects in descent or even on T/O does not engage, that a hand for the power leavers is essential.

In the sim it is great fun to have a A/T failure at bottom of descent, and a busy work load...just watch the faces as the crew wonder why speed falling, and everything else olooks normal.
