Crew visa in Lagos?
Can someone advise whether it is possible to obtain a crew visa upon arrival in Lagos, or does one have to go through the Nigerian Embassy in London before departure?
Also, any recommendations for a handler in Lagos?
Thanks,
Jez

If you arrive AND depart as active crew you should be able to immigrate on the Gendec. For all other cases you will need a visa at least as far as I know.
We have used Interair a couple of times in LOS - service generally o.k. Just remember that things take time in this part of the world.

I went in and out on a gendec a few months ago from the UK.
Take a load of $$$ with you as you'll have to bung everyone to get enything done, plus allow AGES to get through any formalities, it takes forever to get anything to happen. The traffic and roads are unbelievable.
Use the Sheraton, nice hotel full of crews.........

I'm confused (as usual!!)
Hi ......... The saga continues.
Landover advise that we require an Embassy issued visa. Everyone else I've spoken to (and on here) seem to think it's not required if we have a GenDec.
I'm confused!!

Jez,
As operating crew you can come and go for a few days on a gendec. Thats what I did on a 604 less than 6 months ago...........to and from the UK.
Our handler was organised by UAS in DXB.

Hi Stress,
Yep, that's what I've heard from everyone else that I've spoken to.
Maybe it's because we're there for 5 days (Deep Joy!)................
Anyway, I think we're just going to have to just do the visa thing.
Thanks for the input though.
Regards,
Jez
