Saudi wives in the baggage hold of a Challenger
I heard an unbelievable story yesterday. It's second hand, but here it is.
It seems that a Saudi man who owns a Challenger, has installed in the baggage hold of his aircraft, a couple jump-seats where he installs his wives when he travels with them. This is for when he travels with business partners, so that his wives do not mingle with the others.
If true, that he can get away with this in Saudi Arabia, I could understand for there, some people are above the law, but how come the authorities of the countries where he flies to accept such a practise?
Anyone know about this ?

So they don't need to follow the instructions of the crew in an emergency then?
I guess it would be a bit hard from a windowless compartment isolated from the cabin!!

I wonder if those poor wives still use that old line... " not my Mohammed , he`s different..." ha ha ha , I guess not. Frankly if you`re that controllable , you deserve it.

I can't speak for the Challenger, however, I was told by some people with Dassault that they had a middle east customer request a window be installed in the baggage compartment on a Falcon 900. When Dassault inquired for the reason of the request, they were told that the owner planned to carry two if his servants in the baggage compartment on some trips and wanted a window installed so they could see out.
Dassault did not install the window.
(In case you are curious the Falcon 900 aft baggage compartment is accessible in flight through a door in the aft lav, below FL 410.)

OK, now I am lost.
I thought we were all in agreement there is nothing wrong with where ever the Saudi wants his wife/wives to travel, be it in the cabin or baggage compartment.
His plane, his wife/wives, his decision, surely!

Some of us believe that women are people, not property.
Lets face it, I don't agree with what is happening there, but there's millions of women that have waay more serious problems.

Often landing in Doha or Stanstead there was a ACJ in private livery and Qatar registration.
Many times, in Doha, there were 1 or 2 757's in same private livery.
Finally at UK end, ran into crew in Ops. The ACJ was only for the wives weekly shopping run to London, and 90% of what came back was from Harrods. The rest was in hand carry, very small ornate ribbon-wraped boxes.
