Well as they are looking for a Hawker 900 Captain with Falcon 900 hours you do the sums???

A bigger embarrassment to aviation I defy you to find!

Yes, I did spot the typo and their online application form does not list the Hawker as an option to annotate your hours on type.

Can you be a bit more specific as to why they are so bad - and from bitter experience, sadly I probably have found bigger embarrassments to aviation out there....

Well I could write a book on it but fundamentally there is no-one in charge! Everyone, and there are very many in the office is only interested in looking after their own ar5e and when things go wrong, (every flight) it is the pilots that are held responsible. It therefore becomes a war zone between them and us!
"No one stays more than 2 years" was the welcome message from management!

Spot on KellyH..... of course the "Just culture" that exists in the rest of Aviation and underpins the safety regime in an ordinary operation is absolutely non existent at Comlux.
Be also advised that you wont get through the door if you are UK born....

May I suggest that either u get in touch with an insider (min two years of service) or just go there with an open mind and weight pros and cons once u have a job offer?

Coming here to ask for advice from an audience of 99,99% of ill/partly/gossip informed ones (if u are VERY lucky...) will almost certainly lead to a decision you may as well regret.

In the end it's all about you, your career and your lifestyle.

Most of the posts in this thread are quite old now. In fact most of the complaints are from 5 years ago now. Surely things must have improved if they managed to survive? Is there still backing from SPA?

Management staff style is improving in the good direction.
Should you have B777 type rating, you may be called for interview.

Well if you call no-one to ever ever get promoted within fleets a good sign?
And we won't mention pilots getting fired for not responding to their phones on their DAYS OFF will we?
It was clearly explained to me. There are no days off in comlux. All days off are standby days! And as for that ital chief pilot??? Give me a break!

Salaries always paid on time, and from time to time ahead scheduled.
Company credit cards always working.
As you called the Ital manager, should you show your flexibility, they will return you the favor.

Red Nose.
Is that the best you can come up with? They actually pay you for your work and pay their bills along the way so the cc keeps working? Hmmm. Impressed. And despite showing my flexibility the "favor" was never returned, least of all from the ital!
DEEC. Sorry, all previous co's I have worked for would at least consider you for future openings on another fleet. But not so with comlux. Whatever position you have been offered that is it, for life, if you survive them?
So, not what I would call a career company?

After bending over backwards for these people, i can only say don't. Do your job, no more, expect no back up, appreciation or loyalty in return and you'll be OK. If you expect a two way street or any of those other things, they will disappoint you, regardless of all the promises along the way.

I've worked for Comlux on a freelance and fixed term contract basis. They have been straightforward, organised training etc efficiently, paid me on time, and been a decent company to work with. The flight department survives despite a tough economic environment and I think the company does a decent job considering the position it's in. There are better companies around but there are certainly worse too! PM me if you want to know any more.

Cheers all

Tom
