@ Netjets,

Are you talking about NJE or NJ USA?

I would walk to Lisbon if that gave me an interview with Netjets. And I would be happy with 22 days vacation and a decent pay/roster.

Ex. medium turboprop capt. No job.

Ali, you have a marvellous sense of humour. NJE, foreign pilot sponsorship? Pah!!

Wait though, maybe it's not as crazy as it sounds. We could bring in low-timers prepared to sell a kidney to pay for their own type rating in a Ryanair kinda way.

We could then impose a change in contracts as we have before. Cut pay, change terms and conditions, all the stuff netjets and Silverhawk have mentioned (though some of the others on here pretend never happened).

Next we could have the pilots accomodation downgraded to tents and have a box of food delivered to them at home which they could then carry with them for six days (don't laugh, the latter was suggested by a bright spark in Lisbon).

It is not as rosy a picture as certain people in here would have you believe. That said it's still a lot better perhaps than 'pure' corporate. Just don't be surprised when the rules are changed without consultation.

4. No equallity - why does a Cpt on a large 3 crew aircraft get paid more than me and why do I get paid more than a Cpt on the Bravo? There has been much talk about another pay review to equalize the pay. No action!

Why does an airline captain on a widebody earn more than an airline captain on a narrowbody, who in turn earns more than a commuter captain?

There is a difference.

Airline crew all have cabin crew. In a small bizjet there is often no fa or apu. For these reasons the crew on a smaller aircraft work harder.

Imagine being on the apron in Athens in August for two hours with no air conditioning.

@ Netjets,

You left Netjets. Fine, you probably had a good reason. I'm just curious if you found a company with better T&C's or something else and if this company is corporate too.

I think the hint about "orange" just might be a clue.

I don't mind the job. Sure, rather new still and still yet to do a "summer". So far so good. Lots of variety, nice aeroplane and great crews.

Sure, have to tidy the cabin, arrange the food and load bags. Nothing I haven't done already in other jobs. Yes, lots of changes from day to day (or minute to minute) but that is the nature of the job and I've been mucked around far worse in other jobs.

Often it's a mind set. Am I going to let the changes annoy me or just roll with them.

If you expect to have your 6 days planned well in advance and there be little or no change and you like going to the same locations and have very little contact with the pax then it isn't the job for you.

I know of the issues that the old hands complain about and it's worth noting them. As my contract stands, I am happy with it and so far, it's been honoured as written.

I can see that for a few that after 5 years that a change of jobs would be the right thing to do for themselves. I wouldn't criticise someone giving 5 years service and moving on. Will I want to move? I hope not.

Question Netjets.........again

The other day, I was reading an article about Netjets Europe and was surprised what the COO was saying. According to him only seven pilots left the company voluntarily during the last seven years. Is that a typo? Or is that company really so good? Or shall we say other operators not so good?

Seven left in the last year? Excuse me staining the seat but I appeared to have wet myself laughing.

What about the four who quit in one week toward the end of June?

I believe that up until April of this year the average was one per week but that, of course, is just a rumour. Small wonder though given the gradual whittling away of terms and conditions and continued squeezing of crew.

I heard from an old friend that more pilots have quit this week. Unless they look at the PAY and conditions more will go.

There hasn't been a pay review in over 3 years, are you telling me that there has been zero inflation in that time! I was sick of getting an effective pay cut every year and I had to go!

Why stay when you can make €25,000 a year more working less hard, flying better airplanes with less hassle pax. No brainer!!

As for the only 7 leavers, that is pure marketing bullsh1t from the King of Spin.

i hope it is not as bad a what a lot of you are saying on here, as i am just about to start with nj next month, and they have long been my dream job.

surely the pay must be market competetive otherwise no one would work for them, amd i do not mean a few people leave over a period of time, if it was really bad, there would be mass resignations?

lets hear some of the happy njs people out there tell us the flip side to this argument...

if the average is one a week over a workforce of 300-400, than pilots stay an average of 300-400 weeks or 6-8 years. I agree that there are airlines out there where the rate is lower, but know of many companies where the rate is much higher too.

I know that several of you don't like the company (anymore), but I also know several people working there who are happy and dozens more who have been treater worse at other companies.

Just to put anyone considering joining Netjets in the picture.

I have been with the company for 4 months now and have heared all the stories that some people tell on this forum, and all I can say is they are talking through their rear ends.

They are people with a chip on their shoulders who were not good enough to upgrade to captain so blamed everyone but themselves.

The work is fantastic as it is so veried. the flying is fun and keeps you on your toe's.

The routes are rearly the same so you always end up in a 4 star hotel somewhere new every tour.

So as you can see I cannot recommend highly enough.

Sure things don't always go as planned, but that life.

Enjoy it if you are joining
