Management Reshuffle At NJE
So my namesake is on his bike and a little bird tells me a higher up is being promoted out of the way.
Fingers crossed that means a change in atmosphere and working conditions for the Lisbonites. This could be the beginning of something good!!
(Unless you happen to be crew preparing to flog your way through another undermanned summer).
Chin up everyone!

Further developments in Lisbon. Could it be that my work here is done?
C'mon boys and girls. Don't be afraid, tell us what you think.

It's going up! I had to laugh several times when I read the letter from our new CEO, a very funny guy! Netjets seems to be on the right way now: respecting its employees as humans that do mistakes. I think the most important sentence from that letter was:
If this is the new spirit of NJE, we are looking into a much brighter future. The new management has to prove that this is true. Let's go ahead!
I like to recruit the best candidate for the job. I like to recruit people who are much smarter than me to work for me. I like my thinking to be challenged by the people who work with me.

Bill, you are most very welcome.
Please don't forget who has the closest contact with the passengers, the crews. Let's motivate and retain the pilots, it's cheaper than getting new ones. If you give us all 6 on 5 off you will have the happiest pilots in the world!!

So, let's see... if I'm right, in the last 4 weeks:
1. a Falcon Fleet Manager has left
2. the Gulfstream Fleet Manager has left
3. the Scheduling Manager has left
4. the Vendor Manager has left
5. a Maintenance Manager has left
6. the Commercial Director has left
7. another Director is leaving
8. the COO got ‘promoted’ to President
9. the CFO moved from London to become the COO
10. the President then got fired a week later
11. and the COO (who until a week ago was the CFO, remember) got promoted, again, to President.
Does anyone out there know what the hell is going on in Lisbon?!
How are the crews reacting to all this nonsense just before the start of the silly season?

Firstly, the fleet managers didn't leave as such. They resigned their positions and will return to full flying duties. Basically I believe they are burned out which in NJE is traditionally the lot of any fleet manager in Lisbon.
As for the others, I wouldn't like to make guesses in an open forum. Of course we are discussing it among ourselves and most theories seem to be the same.
Personally I'm trying not to let it interfere with my work, as you say the busy season is approaching. The email from the new CEO has some very promising aspects and being an optimist by nature I'll be sticking around a while. Be a shame to leave the party just before the strippers arrive

Yes, below the line it is a very good place to work at. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.
With these changes - that were absolutely necessary - NJE can be brought back on path and I honestly wish Bill good luck with his new job. We'll be working hard as usual, let's see if the results will get better as well.

I understand that most people resigned because of the old CEO. Most people that resigned have decided to stay after all because he left. Together with what Flintstone correctly said regarding people going back to the line only 2 people on your list left.

DM gone
Only about 6 years too late.
He only did the new deliveries becuase all he had to do was fly towards the sunrise. HS125s turned up at Farnborough with tons of snags he should have picked up at acceptance. If only he knew what he was looking at.
I wonder if anyone will still be in place when the gagging order expires.

I hope they put competent people in key positions- or maybe friends of friends get key positions, regardless of qualis. Maybe these key postion people influence the company culture- the FEAR culture- people can openlyspeak up, right?
Listen to the employees at the sharp end- they know whats going on.
What about a salary increase in line with inflation- we are losing money!
How about a Crew Council? Soon more than 600 pilots and NO representation.
What happens to the guys that reach 10 years of service? Salary grid stops!
Medical care after 60- etc.
FLIGHT ATTENDANTS GET THE SAME SALARY AS FO's- good for the FA's but is that how you value the responsibilty of the second in command? Joe on the right seat gets a heart attack over the Atlantic , yes, the FA fly the plane...
But people do not leave NetJets - no, never. After all it's run like an airline.
Pilots trained at Flight Safety, outsourced training is the best quality control you can get, thats why all the airlines send their pilots to Flight Safety.
Hey I have an idea- EXPAND- buy more aircraft and select more pilots with the selection proedure developed by NetJets- wear a tie ..you are in. Thorough assessment as the customer would expect...

Calm down, he's gone. It's all going to be alright, he's really gone.
As for you dig at the selection, there is no easy way to pick people to fly for any company. I have a very good knowledge of BA's, B Med's, easyJet's, Thomsonfly's, MyTravel's and Ryanair's. They are all very different.
How would you pick people? Psychological tests? Verbal and numerical reasoning? Team games and a sim?
How about a tech quiz, sim ride for all and a 30 minute interview?

Should I stay or should I go?!!!
Heard he got promoted away to a London Netjets office a few weeks ago, but last week somebody told me he really left the company.
What is the real story, I am about to take a very impotant decision here.
"Shall I stay or should I gooooooooooooooooooo"
