Falcon 50

Calling al BizJet Jockeys!!!

Can anyone tell me what reasonable range I could expect from a
Falcon 50 either empty or with 5Pax.
I have been trying to process a FlightPlan and it is failing to calculate with a distance of 2200NM. I would have thought it would be able to do this!

many thanks

LH

The routing was OKBK-ELLX via Cairo and it actally came out at 3000nm so I am not now surprised it failed for fuel especially when you factor in the wind which will surely be a Headwind.

Thanks anyway

LHmain ; could you please provide an example of 3200-3500 NM F50 operation (conditions, flight profile..)

just coming back from South America with that bird...full of fuel...ISA+16 up to FL350...TKOF at 40500 lbs.....4 PAX + cargo...................15 to 20 knots headwind

was happy to fall down at GOOY Dakar 2300 NM 5 hrs 12 mn later !...could not even imagine to add 1k miles more to complete your 3200-3500 NM range !!!

On the 731-3 powered aircraft I have flown, MGTOW long range cruise profiles at constant altitude and constant long range mach could generally be planned to follow this fuel burn schedule:

1st hour 900 lbs per engine
2nd- 750
3rd- 700
4th- 650
5th- 600
6th- 550

By flying a more agressive max range profile with step climbs from FL330 to FL410and diminishing mach speed, (constant AOA) about 50 lbs less per hour per engine would be consumed.

Normal cruise planning averages about 100 lbs per hour per engine higher than the figures listed above. The higher weight/thrust ratio of the fully loaded DA50 may push the fuel burn higher than these figures for a twinjet. So you could burn up 12,500 lbs of your full-up 15,000 lbs in anywhere from 5 to 6 1/2 hrs depending on the profile selected. This probably results in a maximum still air range of about 2,750nm at max LRC and about 2,200 nm at normal high speed cruise. If I am very far off, please let me know. Maybe it's the 900 that has the 3,500 nm range.

Best regards,

I stand corrected

Best I have done: HSSS-LFPB 6hrs 16min avg 80 on the nose = air distance 3032 NM 5 pax. Norm for me is 3000 lb reserve, not that day. ISA was high, July. No intention to mislead anyone, maybe wishfull thinking on my part. 15,500 lbs, 31-3D. I know it could do better with ISA @ 0, how much I confess I do not know.

50 vs 50EX

THAT makes the difference...were talking about the non EX 50.....

Sure EX is for the benefit of an extended range....mine is not !...

ThanX all !
