Russian occupation of Luton...
What's with all the Russian big iron at Luton? The guy that just bought the Chelsea FC has a prime 767-300 that was there the other day.
Also, there were two "Russian 727's", sorry I can't identify the type (guess I'll have to resign from A.net...
).
They were very nice looking and it appeared that they had been re-engined with CRJ-900 engines (just a guess).
Anyway, I'd be interested in the info on the 'tri-jets' just for grins.

Harrods has been recruiting us for some time but we're long-time Signature clients. I haven't been on that side of the ramp for awhile is it nice?
Perhaps hookers and booze might change our loyalties. I love bidding wars!
On the Yak 42 issue, apparently those engines are the original equipment. Interesting machine. Looks more modern and well designed than most Soviet-built types.TC

The "Chelski" 767 should be very regular at Luton from now on. Whilst his BBJ could use Farnborough, which I believe is closer to his UK home, the 767 is too big to be allowed into Farnborough.
On the basis that he wanted a London airport with 24 hour operations and no slot restrictions, Luton was the only option.
BTW .. does anybody know if he has disposed of the BBJ?

Good question Olney. I imagine the 767 could cause problems at some places, but tbh I think he largely flies between Moscow and Luton anyway. 737 last seen in Geneva from what I can make out, just before the 767 was delievered. No idea where it is now.

Hardly likely to be on the British (or even Russian) register was it? Mind you some of Aeroflot's own aircraft are registered in Bermuda. Something to do with lease agreements no doubt. Aruba is rapidly becoming the aviation equivalent of Panama/Liberia.

A fair number of Russian based biz are on the Aruban reg' as oposed to the more usual Cayman/Bermudan reg's. I believe there is a Gulfstream 4 on the Russian register along with a few 125s & Falcons.
