North African? |
Then France or Italy.
Reciprocal to me means South African, but that ain't got a Med border! |
East European would mean Yugoslavia and Albania - timing would leave out Austro-Hungary :8
France and Italy are defintely Mediterranean - Latino! Where does Latin come from? Barcelona? Or should I have said Latine? Well, Latin would have included Romania. Should I rest my case :(? |
I fear we'll end up entangled with semantics I would have said that if you're going from the Med to North Africa, then France and Italy are behind you, hence reciprocal! I would also call Italy a Mediteranean country and ruled it out with my earlier answer. It is French and I did say it had Med border, but it's a big country with very little on the Med! |
I stand corrected. The reason for all that verbiage is that I have no clue what the aircraft would be .
|
Found a SOCATA but no pic.
|
Nothing to correct Reg, you're right to ask!
Over half a century ago, this aircraft set out to investigate what the latest 21st century airliners find essential. Not a SOCATA LM |
A very interesting machine, indeed and very capable of withstanding any turbulence caused by forum members.
It has an interesting designation also, the Hirsch-M.Aé.R.C. H-100 Built as experimental to do research in he field of gust alleviation (gust-absorption). It had swiveling wingtips and interconnected double flaps/ailerons/elevators. The original 95hp Régnier 4-EO engines were later replaced by 170hp Lycomins O-360s. The H-100 is now in the Le Bourget Museum If correct I request OH for a last time :O |
Again blinded by myself. Went through Aviafrance Experimental, but only pre-WW2 :\
|
Good grief.......:bored:
|
Well done Walter, you've said it all. :ok:
It is (still extant in a museum, see Wiki) the Hirsch-M.Aé.R.C. H-100 What would they have done with todays computers to play with? http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/...afe/Hirsh2.jpg Walter Carl has requested Open House |

Airbus A-380 ailerons mate, I posted a video clip a while back which you must have missed, fascinating to watch the multiple "fingers", just like playing the piano and virtually no wing-flex during gusty climb-out!!
Ere 'tiz YouTube - SQ A380 001.avi Edited to apologise to Reg; it seems that while I was answering your question, I missed your additional edited comment "assuming pre-WW2". That's the trouble with trying to monitor and work at the same time :ugh:and it's back to work now, so seeya at breaktime! |
Er...didn't know about that one!
The A340 uses clever use of spoilers to give a smoother ride though. |
It's far too quiet......
|
|
Evening LM,
Just off home now, so some questions before I leave! The wing-tip on the far side looks pretty high AR, so is it powered and how? Is it manned (or as the PC brigade seem to say now, inhabited) and if so by how many? Post WW2? Catchya later :) |
Evening TC. :)
It is indeed relatively high aspect ratio. Not powered. Manned (personned) with ten passengers. |
Let's start with Hindustan Aircraft Limited G-1, basically because I have not seen a picture....
|
Just got back!
Thanks mate, you confirmed my suspicions! Gimme ten! It's the Allied Aviation XLRA-1 a flying boat! Edited to add a one! |
