A real "Mig Alley"

On Friday, I visited the Polish Aviation Museum at the old Kraków-Rakowice-Czyżyny Airport. Lots of interesting aircraft but for me the surprising highlight was a real Mig Alley!

Included in the lineup was a Mig-17 variant I had never heard of:

A radar-equipped WSK Lim-6R. The nose reminded me of a basking-shark!

Beyond Mig Alley was this Sukhoi Su-22UM3K. I hadn't realized what giant wing fences it has.

And finally, an aircraft I knew about but had never seen - the PZL M-15 Belphegor - a jet-powered crop sprayer.

The best Mig alley I ever saw was the buldozed remnants of the Somali "Air force" at Mogadishu in 1993.
