TSR equipment sales

I was having a chat with a friend the other day and he was reminiscing about his time in the tyre trade. He dealt with all kinds of tyres from scooter tyre up to massive dumper -truck tyres. He was wont to visit military surplus sales and on one occasion he 'bought the tyres off that fighter that got scrapped, the actual tyres that flew on it'. On saying this he got my full attention. He didn't keep them long though, as he was offered more money by another dealer who apparently filled them with earth and used them as planters in his garden! I'm assuming that this must have taken place in 1967 or thereabouts. Does anyone have any information about this particular auction where the remnants of the mighty TSR 2 were sold off ?

Got a very vague recollection that Ormond Haydon-Baillie or his brother Wensley acquired a few TSR-2 bits at some point, though probably some years later than 1967. Concorde comes to mind as being the collecting focus, so possibly Olympus engines were involved.
