Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle

I'm researching an 'event' involving an Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle. Are there any sections of one still in existence? Any good diagrams or maybe plans or original documents?

TIA

Any use? Armstrong Whitworth AW 41 ALBEMARLE Database (raf38group.org)

There was a gentleman called David Stansfield reported a few years ago as reconstructing a fuselage section from dumped remains, but no current info I can find.
Maybe try the Midland Aircraft Museum at Coventry, A-W were based there.

There were a few bits recovered from a site in the Lake District (?) quite some years ago which are probably the remain referred to by Fargo Boyle. Cockpit frames, small bits of wing, etc, nothing substantial though.

Many thanks. I'll investigate further down that route.

I have some reports covering the Albemarle in my collection of Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment reports.

I assume this was the RAF Albermarle 'dig' in a quarry near Aspatria in the early 1980's Treadi - I volunteered for it but I think they chose better looking and younger guys :)
