RAF Croughton Gate Guardians

Went past today. Seem to remember they were an F-100 and and an F-105(?). When did they disappear - and where did they go?

The F-105 I believe went to the IWM at Duxford but has since regrettably moved on.

Both the F-100 and F-105 went to Molesworth and were scrapped there.

Duxford's Thud was a different airframe.

Duxford F-105 went to Poland I think. And yes both Croughton gate guards were scrapped.

Asked my mate when we drove past them once many years ago what were they coded, he replied CU on one side and NT on the other !! Took me a while to realise !
