‘Sell’ has many meanings in that part of the world. Air Zimbabwe had one aircraft (2?), mainly for VIP travel Air Botswana, 1-2, in conjunction with AirZim? SA Airlink after a few years for the seeds to germinate. The ‘oil supply’ industry, Egypt, Sinai, Sudan, were either vetoed politically or later judged high risk. Kenya was a disappointment, but that was all about money, where it comes from who gives what to whom. Visits to Angola and Mozambique were political gestures, as might have been the sensitive demonstration in J’Burg (which officially did not happen), consisting of a full days flying around Swaziland (Wales with pineapples). |
