"The Quiet Safari" film; 146 African sales tour

The sound is a bit distorted but marvellous footage of 146 G-OBAF trawling around Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Malawi, Sudan, Egypt...

Includes scenes over Victoria Falls and the Pyramids.

Produced by the Aircraft Group Film Unit at Weybridge.

‘Sell’ has many meanings in that part of the world.
Air Zimbabwe had one aircraft (2?), mainly for VIP travel
Air Botswana, 1-2, in conjunction with AirZim?
SA Airlink after a few years for the seeds to germinate.

The ‘oil supply’ industry, Egypt, Sinai, Sudan, were either vetoed politically or later judged high risk.
Kenya was a disappointment, but that was all about money, where it comes from who gives what to whom.

Visits to Angola and Mozambique were political gestures, as might have been the sensitive demonstration in J’Burg (which officially did not happen), consisting of a full days flying around Swaziland (Wales with pineapples).
