Victors at RAF Cosford 1978

Hi,

Does anyone know the details of the Victor that was in the training hangars at RAF Cosford in 1977/78 including the colour scheme? I recall fixing an autopilot snag on this during my finals c. May 1978!

Thanks

There have been at least three Victors resident at Cosford with the Museum/SoTT at various times.

Take your pick from:
B.1 XA923/7850M
B.1A XH592/8429M
K.2 XH672/9242M

Of those, XA923 was all-white, the others camouflaged.

XH672 only came to Cosford after retirement in the 1990s and XA923 was a museum airframe from the mid-1970s, I think. Therefore XH592 is the more likely candidate, I'd say.

I'm 99% certain XH592 and XH593 were both there in 1982/3 as training aircraft and XA923 was in the museum
