Good to hear of a Tristar coming alive again. The first airliner I ever flew on was an Air Transat L-1011 from Stansted (the old 'terminal') to Toronto circa 1991. I can clearly remember that having a window seat just in front of the engines gave me a good view of the large Rolls Royce badge on the side of the starboard engine, as a Brit i found that nicely reassuring :). With a strong head wind on the way out the captain informed us that we were going to make a fuel stop at Goose Bay, Labrador - a rare treat for even though we weren't allowed off I could see the stranded ex RAF Vulcan parked up and displayed through the open door. When we arrived over Toronto it was not so comfortable as we seemed to literally fall out of the sky with the pilots losing height very rapidly, an awful feeling with your brain and stomach trying to make sense of it all. The return trip two weeks later was comparatively uneventful by comparison.

I'll also add that having made the trip down to the back to use the toilet I was staggered at how much noisier it was compared to being closer to the front!
