Gibbs Glider Griffith NSW
The Pioneer Park at Griffith has a glider on display built by William Gibbs in 1936. He later died in a Lancaster crash during WW2.
The glider was built of wood by William and his brother following plans, source unknown. It looks similar to a German between the Wars Dagling but the Museum has very little information on file. I was wondering if anyone out there has more information. https://open.abc.net.au/explore/58737 |
Looks as though it may be based on the Slingsby T.3 Primary (a.k.a. Dagling) which was a single-seat training glider produced in the 1930s in the UK.
