What a surprise - Lancaster
Portinscale, Keswick. 10.00. 4/916 A Lancaster at 1200' or so, under the 8/8 cloudbase, heading up Bassenthwaite doing a good impression of a Hercules. I must tell someone!

Good thing you didn't have a lie-in this morning Ray!

Nice to see she's back in the air.
Some nice pictures in the press today. She was grounded in the BBMF hangar with engine woes when I visited a few weeks back. In fact, she wasn't the only one in the hangar grounded with engine problems! http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...0808105752.png http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...0808110044.png http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...0808102048.png And a gratuitous shot just because I like it: http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...0808102409.png |
Nice photo in The Times yesterday

Due at Southport Saturday and Sunday..... hoping it flies over our house again!

Didn't appear at Ayr on Saturday - still recovering from engine fix?
|
Was the wind high/gusty? BBMF didn't make Blackpool one day due to winds being too high (20kts plus gusts and onshore, too).
