A mate of mine remembers being almost trampled into the mud by the rush of US military reps desperate to get pictures of the MiG display.......................... and he reckoned from the accompanying exclamations that it was more than a "surprise"

My boss and I were pre briefed in confidence that on arrival, one of the Mig 29s would land and the other would go straight into an 'improptu' display, that's why it was a 'surprise'.
