Spitfire Needed for Flypast

Hi I'm looking for anyone who owns a Spitfire and lives in south West of England or anyone would be willing to help out with a fly past on the 6th September over the old Airfield at RAF Warmwell in crossways in Dorset for an unveiling of a memorial plaque to honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for king and country during the Battle of Britain, and to also honour the "The Few" and the groundcrews. We hope to have family members attending, so if you can help out or know someone that could help please get in touch thank you. Rob

Try BBMF at Coningsby; if they have any other bookings that day, I'm sure they'd be delighted to fit you in. When I was doing Farnborough LARS East and North combined one day, a Spitfire of BBMF came on frequency and did numerous flypasts all over the south of England.

Thanks for that, I did check looks like nothing going on down that area, around the time. Will keep looking

Also try Hangar 11 Collection at North Weald or Boultbee at Goodwood.

You could also try the Rolls Royce Heritage Trust who operate their Mk XIX out of EMA. The Rolls-Royce Spitfire XIX PS853 ? Rolls-Royce ;)

The Biggin Hill 'mass sortie' has taken off, with the BBC website illustrating the 'Spitfires' with images of Hurricanes:-
Battle of Britain: Flypast for 75th anniversary of 'Hardest Day' - BBC News

Several Spitfires will fly over the South East in formations to mark the day:-

(and yes, I know that there are six Hurricanes participating)

At least Lesley Ashmall on site for BBC Radio Five Live knows her Spitfires (and the Mustang?) from the Hurricanes.
