Where is it now?

Many years ago, I regularly flew a group of business types into Shoreham. I was reminded of this the other day and this has caused me to wonder what happened to the Mitchell that was languishing there at the time.

This was painted in a rather fetching red and had been used as a camera platform for many of the aerial sequences in The Battle of Britain film. I suspect it might have been broken up which would have been a pity, particularly for such a pretty aircraft.

Anyone know?

It's now an exhibit in the American Air Museum building at Duxford. Don't think it was used in Battle of Britain, perhaps 633 Sqn - was brought over by Jeff Hawke though!

Battle of Britain B-25 went back to US and I remember seeing it at Tico Airport in Florida about 30 years ago.
