Jersey Airport Documentary

An interesting documentary. Jersey Airlines started their services from January 1934 offering an all round service to and from Heston Airport, initially with DH Dragon aircraft which landed as mentioned on the beach at St Aubin's Bay. Jersey. Later DH86 Expressliner aircraft were used with extra capacity once the airport at St Helier was opened, and operated to/from Heston. Graham Dawbarn also developed a large hangar at Heston in 1935 for Airwork which has some similar characteristics to the one built at Jersey. Also the picture showing the DH86 aircraft in 1940 with the crew and some Jersey Airline's staff shortly before the German forces took over the Channel Islands, was taken at Heston. This can also be seen on the RAF Museum (Charles Brown photos) using the "navigator" search system.

Not Jersey Airlines but Jersey Airways.
Jersey Airlines started in 1949 two years after Jersey Airways was absorbed into BEA
Did a Google on Graham Dawbarn and discovered that he drew the original concept for the BBC TV centre at Shepherds Bush.

Sadly the remains of his design at Jersey are to be pulled down as the CAA say
the building is too close to the runway

Weren't they using the joint name Jersey and Guernsey Airways at the time they tried out the DH Flamingo? I think I've a photo of a DH86 on the beach though I imagine an airfield was preferable
