Vince Taylor - Rock & Roller & A/C Mechanic

Vince Taylor (born Brian Maurice Holden) was an early 1960s Rock & Roll (small) star who never hit the big time but influenced a number of people. I had never heard of him but I was reading that in his later years he worked as an “aircraft mechanic” in Switzerland before he died of cancer at the age of 52 in 1991. Would anyone happen to know who he was working for? Interestingly, despite his early rock and roll lifestyle he said the time he spent working on aircraft as the happiest years of his life.

He is mentioned in the lyrics of 'Goin' Down Geneva' by Van Morrison.

"Vince Taylor used to live here, nobody's heard of him".

Van has been known to put a few verses of Vince's song 'Cadillac' in the middle, when he performs it live. :ok:
