Looking for Bristol Britannia flight control details

Hello,

A bit of a long shot but does anyone have any schematic drawings for the Bristol Britannia flight controls that I could use? Specifically I'm looking for schematics showing the torque tube connections between controls and servo tabs and perhaps some images of the servo controls. I could really use some electronic scans if possible!

PM if you can help, alternatively my e-mail address is on my site (see profile - contact details). Thanks!

Re Britannia details

Do you have a friend in Cuba?

Not really, do I need one?

There must also be a number of ex-BOAC and ex-Eagle flight engineers and pilots who could help you. Another lead would be to contact the British Airways Heritage Museum Heritage collection | History and Heritage | British Airways They may even have some old manuals.

may be able to get help at: Britannia Aircraft Preservation Trust - home of the Bristol Britannia

Thanks for these tips! I have now found one general view showing the control runs through the fuselage but could use some detail views of the torque tubes and bevel boxes etc. As I only need the images to illustrate a short section of a lecture I was hoping to avoid getting hold of complete manuals. The Britannia is a bit of an odd one out with regard to flight control connections which is why I'd like to spend a few minutes talking about it. I'll go and chase up these leads now!

The only info I have now is the Flight Control section of the Ops Manual for the Britannia 312, which might contain a useful snippet of information. I have emailed it via your Vickers VC10 link as it refuses to go through Pprune.

Servo tabs

Jhieminga, are you looking for info on servo tabs or just the Britannia?

If it`s servo tabs the Vickers Vanguard used the same method for flight controls & we have all the manuals for that at Brooklands on G-APEP.
