Is that the same as the Socata Rallye ?
Hi Martin...sometimes its worth the risk of going with the obvious....I was hoping everyone would think it was TOO obvious, but yes, its the MS880B Rallye:ok:
http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...r/9f269a68.jpg RR has control Edit to say, LM, just seen your post...this particular one is the MS Rallye but would have accepted SOCATA....but RR was there first. |
it certainly is
Thanks Ken. I'm afraid its an OH from me again :(
Good morning Karl....unusual looking...twin engine?
Good morning Ken. Yes, twin radials.
It looks like it from the land of snails and Sauternes!! ?? RR
Thanks Karl...the tail looks like it came off a C-119!
was it built and did it fly, Karl?
Not French, not from that side of the pond.... it has a nose mounted gun turret.
Edit: RR, one was built and flew. |
And to be not so cryptic with the clue, US Navy prototype!
Hall Aluminium XPTBH-2?
Hall Aluminium XPTBH-2 |
Not on the list Reg, or was it a recent one?
Not very recent
Hall Aluminium Aircraft Corporation XP2H-1 193, page 232, post 4622, 26/11/2009 Aaaa, that is not the same. My apologies :uhoh:. |
That's on the list, but it was a 4 engine biplane! This current challenge is 2 engine and high wing!
There were a couple of Halls on the list, but I did not see this particular one.
:ok: Skytrain has control! http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...2_on_water.png |
Yes. A pusher-puller, was the 2009 one :ugh:.
I see that I must be on secret double "repeat" probation... I must step carefully. :O
FJ-4 Fury?
Not the Fury Karl
Hi Ken, Yours is a Ruskie but i can't remember what! :(
Edit: Karl, by the way, the Hall was a nice one!!!!! |
Looks a bit like the Yak 30.

Looks a bit like the Yak 30. http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...r/c80ba419.jpg LM has control |
Thank you mate - just keeping my hand in.
Open House. |
OK, here goes...http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/...une171011A.jpg
Am I nom completely off track, but at least this we have had before (or have we? :ooh:).
I stand corrected!!!!! :O Yes, Reg, the CAMCO V-liner!!!
OPEN HOUSE again!!! RR |
Do a test, for your interest:
Giggle "CAMCO V-liner flying" and look at the images. There will be down the line a silhouette by Noyade (Kjeller FF6) and next by Mechta (of Airspeed Tern). Click either of them, and they are the silhouettes next and the following of CAMCO, the closest image to the ID of the CAMCO. Big Brother IS watching us. |
Lyco engine, Ken???
Yep, a Lycoming:ok:
To move things along, it goes under 2 different names that I've found and was a one-off conversion from a mass produced aircraft.
Still no progress....so another clue...I stumbled across this one whilst looking for a recent challenge from evansb that turned out to be the Thalman T-3B.
You don't mean Ast Special Shoestring aka Mercury Air, do you? The mighty fairings would match but not the tail :ooh:.
You don't mean Ast Special Shoestring aka Mercury Air, do you? Bear in mind what I said, this is a conversion from a mass produced (and very well known) aircraft. |
