Unhappy about the cowling - R-XIII ?

SincoTC 8th Jul 2012 13:07

There do seem to be a lot of variations to the engines/cowlings, but it is the Lublin R-XIII :D

Lightning Mate 8th Jul 2012 13:46

Sorry mate - I've been watching the opening of the mens' final.

Please standby......

Here's the one from yesterday - risky because I think you probably saved it....

Not to worry mate, I've had unexpected visitors, they've gone now but I've loads to do and miles behind schedule now, but will try and give some attention between tasks :)

I did save it but haven't given it a look since you withdrew it!

Is it powered, it has a fairly high AR, but I'm suspicious of the protrusion on the belly profile?

Lightning Mate 8th Jul 2012 17:26

Powered.........

SincoTC 8th Jul 2012 18:51

Time for a quick look before the kitchen calls!

Powered.........
Not going to get far on that mate (me, not the aircraft that is :))

How many engines, where mounted and what type?

Built and flown, or a project and what was its role?

Cows getting bigger 8th Jul 2012 18:58

Move the wings back a few feet and I would have said Bell X-1

One piston at the front - propellor.

Built & flown - target drone. :)

Not quite as fast as that. :\

That makes it a lot easier, I'd say it's the Radioplane OQ-17 ??

Noyade 8th Jul 2012 22:21

Radioplane OQ-17
Thumbs up from me! :ok:

Thanks Graeme :ok:

This one has appeared before, but not this version, which in side view like this is very different as 'm sure you'll agree.

I'm off to bed soon, but I you could get it before I close down, if not, let "usual Rules" apply :)

Looks like the Tomashyevich Pegas (Aircraft 04)?

* Just found this on the net. Open House if it is 04. Cheers.

Of course it does, it is the Tomashyevich Pegas (Aircraft 04)

I knew it was a lost cause with you about, but it was all I had ready :O

Looks like it ran into a wall, needs a new nose now :)

Thanks Trevor. :)

Open House.

Lightning Mate 9th Jul 2012 05:47

Nicely done with the Radioplane TC. :ok:

I'm off to work shortly, so I'll check in this evening.

Noyade 9th Jul 2012 11:52

I'll check in this evening.
Times, they are a changing, eh? I can post one, but I'll be in bed before you see it. If you answer it, I'll be able to reply tomorrow morning, but you'll be in bed. Such is life.

Ah, what the heck. :) Simple one...

SincoTC 9th Jul 2012 12:10

Evening Graeme,

Just looking in while having my lunch break, been nobody about this morning!

A quick stab at your "simple one", is that a Hawker Typhoon firing off a pair of rockets?

Edit:

Lunch break over now and back to work, no lights on and I think that Graeme has gone to bed now (see Challenge thread).

Busy afternoon ahead here, so I will request Open House if judged correct :)

Lightning Mate 9th Jul 2012 15:38

Looks like a hit TC- at least that's what I would have said.

Lightning Mate 9th Jul 2012 17:13

Evening Trevor. :)

I'm sure Graeme will be happy for you to go for it.......

SincoTC 9th Jul 2012 17:15

Evening LM :),

Been an awful quiet day today, no sign of Martin or Ken, I've seen Mel and Bri's lights on when I looked in at breaks and of course Graeme posted at lunchtime, but I've had too much on today to put anything up before that.

Looks like a hit TC- at least that's what I would have said
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Obviously, we're not going to get any judgement from Graeme for several hours yet, but I'm sure he'd be happy for the thread to move on even if it turns out to be wrong! After all, he didn't throw his toys out of the pram over the cocpit cock-up the other day!!

I'm not going to post anything right now, as I'm off home shortly and when I tried to look in when I got up this morning, my home Internet was down again after more overnight rain!! Apparently, there's an underground culvert near the local exchange that keeps flooding and shorting everything out. It's only the fourth time they've "fixed" it and the last time it was off for several days, so I don't know if it'll be back up yet, but I'll check in again later if it is! So if you want to take the OH, please feel free, I expect Canada/USA and Oz will be back on later and Ken too I hope
