SincoTC 7th Jul 2012 12:37

Thanks mate,

I hadn't seen the the new cockpit yet, a bit hectic here, the cupboard is bare, so gotta nip out and get some provisions shortly.

This looks familiar, is it one of those fan-in-wing jobbers?

Noyade 7th Jul 2012 12:43

Mock-ups on display at the El Toro Airbase in 1986. V/STOL jet fighter project.

fan-in-wing jobbers?
Not sure how it was suppose to work mate.

Lightning Mate 7th Jul 2012 12:49

Not sure how it was suppose to work mate.
Big lifting wing and intakes. Engine (fan) buried inside.

Noyade 7th Jul 2012 12:57

Trevor, an expert source tells me it had a big lifting wing and intakes. Engine (fan) buried inside.

:)

Noyade 7th Jul 2012 13:14

...and I can't find this thing on the net.

Tell ya what - just after a name.
Complete this sentence...

Saint George and the _ _ _ _ _ _

Lightning Mate 7th Jul 2012 13:16

Even with the name I can't find it!!!

...apart from the fact the the Dragon is a twin tilt-rotor helicopter.

Noyade 7th Jul 2012 13:23

Well, lets just forget it then. :)

Make it open house.

I have it as the Phalanx Dragon, then renamed American Aircraft Corporation Dragon.

Lightning Mate 7th Jul 2012 13:35

Guess what is on the web..................
