Old A/c parts & house decoration
G'day to all !
I am not certain if this is the propper thread corner. Anyways... Recently I was watching a CNN program talking about re-usage of old A/c equipment/parts for house decoration. I am very interesteed in this matter and in knowing the whereabouts of this merchants (online web address). Thank you for all inputs. J |
I did not see this programme so am not sure what was shown. I recently visited Pierre Farman's (grandson or nephew? of Henri Farman) antique shop in Paris. He rescues all sorts of bits, from propellors, through turbine blades, control surfaces, and so on, and makes them into house decorations, tables, what have you. Some stunning things there!
I do not have a website for him, but I have address and telephone if this is the sort of thing you are looking for. Laurence |
here's one trader who does some great furniture

"thread drift alert"
can any UK users identify the "aviation looking" bits of kit used as decoration on the DRAGON'S DEN programme?? one of the parts (downstairs) looks like its from a meteor engine (maybe)!! |
Not a merchant but you may be interested on what I've been working on of late.

What you see above is just the best looking sides (had the most hours work) facing the camera. Who is going to be the first to guess the correct model? :) |
Cessna 195 ?
|
Unfortunately that's not the correct model sycamore. But very close.
|
OK, A C-190, or a C-195A ?
|
:ok: You got it, the C190.
The 195's are longer and have the helmets attached from the outside. |
Mrs Jimgriff has loads of fun explaining to visitors why our lounge has ejection seats in it! :ouch:
|
I really am glad I have seen this thread, I have two Ejection seats being made into hot seats for visitors to my office, these will match with the handmade crankshaft from a Isotta Fraschini W18 , what a monster, that I have set onto the base (which is a SAAB Draken wheel), it is a wonderful modern work of Art though made by hand in the early 1920/30s
