Whatever happened to the Trailing Aerial apart from the ones that ended up in the trees and hedgerows of the world? Vanished with the advent of V.H.F and HF radio bands I presume and of course pressurised airframes:bored::bored::bored:

Trailing wire aerials
 
IIRC the buccaneer had a deployable HF aerial - length adjusted by the aerial tuning unit as you changed frequency.
