Today 50 years ago: Luftansa's first 707 rolls out
Now this might be a bit special for a british audience but look at the nice 707-colour picture gallery from back then. And don't miss that "german looking" gentleman wearing very dark glasses inseat on the third pic.
Vor 50 Jahren: Roll-out der ersten 707 der Lufthansa - FLUG REVUE |
Classic aircraft in classic colour schemes. - Nice one. :ok:
|
D-ABOB 707-430, first flew as N31240, 18.12.59, delivered to Lufthansa 25.02.60.
Named Hamburg, and Rolls-Royce Conway powered! :ok: |
I still remember as a kid in Liveropool in the 60s with my VHF skymaster radio listening to them crossing the Otringham VOR on there way to the WAL VOR along BLUE 1 routing almost directly overhead my home and with the sunshine making the Lufthansa motif stand out on the tail even at 35,000ft, they were the days.
