There is a little similarity to the Supermarine 224... is that coincidental or was it built to the same spec F.7/30?

Bristol 133?

S'Land has it - and control

Many thanks one11, an interesting challenge. I always thought that the Bristol 133 looked more French than English, probably because of the gull wings.

Here is the next challenge.

Nord Norecrin - with an accent on the e!

S'land 15th Mar 2009 22:53

Bloomin' 'eck, that was quick. It is indeed the Nord 1203 Norècrin one11.

You have control.

Gloster F9/37 - Peregrine engined version in lieu of Taurus.
Was it built to the same spec as the Whirlwind ?

If correct - Open House

Was it built to the same spec as the Whirlwind ?
Apparently the Whirlwind was earlier, to F.37/35 , although it superficially looks a more advanced design.

Open house now.

Nitkin-Shevchenko IS-2?

Tu.114 17th Mar 2009 16:14

S´land,
yes, it´s the foldable fighter. An innovative attempt to get the speed of a monoplane and the field performance of a biplane. Flaps are SO last year...

Back to You.

S'land 17th Mar 2009 23:18

Thanks Tu.114.

Here is the next one.

Grumman G44?

S'land 18th Mar 2009 12:17

Hmm, I see what you mean, but no. It is not a Grumman product.

barit1 18th Mar 2009 12:38

Clearly related to this one

S'land 18th Mar 2009 13:11

You had me worried there barit1, I thought that I might have used it already. I can see what you mean, but they are not only different boats, they are also from different countries. The old challenge was a Honningstad from Norway and had sponsons instead of floats.

fire-fox 18th Mar 2009 13:43

it's not a Beriev is it (sorry carnt remember the model, but sure there was one like that)

S'land 18th Mar 2009 17:05

Sorry, not a Beriev product either.
